Soliris (Eculizumab)
Soliris is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with a disease called Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder, which effects the spinal cord and eye nerve.
Soliris may also be used to treat a certain immune system disorder, atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome, by preventing blood clots caused by this disease.
Soliris may also be used to treat a certain muscle condition, Myasthenia Gravis, by improving the symptoms of this condition.
Soliris is also used to treat Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria a blood disorder. Soliris assists in blocking the decrease in red blood cells and can improve the symptoms of anemia and decrease the need for blood transfusion.
Indication:
Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria
Atypical hemolytic Uremic Syndrome
Myasthenia Gravis
Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder
Infusion Duration:
Frequency:
Loading Dose: 4 infusions, given over the course of 4 weeks, 1-week interval.
Maintenance Dose: Every 2 weeks.
