Cimzia (Certolizumab) Infusions
Cimzia belongs to a class of drugs known as tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blockers. It works by blocking TNF, a substance made by the body that causes inflammation. Generically known as certolizumab, Cimzia infusions are used to treat the symptoms of Crohn’s disease after other treatments have failed.
Cimzia infusions and certolizumab injectable therapies are also used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis, as well as:
Ankylosing spondylitis
Plaque psoriasis
Non-radiographic axial spondylarthritis.
