Expanded Hours & Access: LUX Infusion Now Open 5 Days a Week in Palmer & Anchorage
Access to specialty infusion therapy shouldn’t feel like a balancing act between your health and your schedule.
That’s why LUX Infusion has taken a meaningful step to better serve patients.
As of August 2025, our Palmer and Anchorage infusion centers are open five days a week, giving patients more opportunities to receive the care they need, when they need it.
Here’s what that means for patients, with a closer look at:

New Schedule: Extended Hours at 2 LUX Infusion Centers
LUX Infusion has always been committed to providing exceptional care that meets patients where they are. Carrying on that mission, LUX has opened up Palmer and Fairbanks infusion clinics one more day a week, rolling out a 5-day-a-week schedule in August 2025.
With this change, our Fairbanks and Palmer infusion centers are now:
Open Mondays through Fridays, including 1 Saturday a month
Able to offer more flexible appointments to accommodate more patients while providing more flexibility in infusion options.
This expansion reflects one of LUX’s core goals of improving access while ensuring each patient’s experience remains personalized, comfortable, seamless, and optimally convenient.
A Better Alternative to Hospital-Based Infusions: AICs
When it comes to infusion therapy, where you receive care can make all the difference in your experience (and, often, the costs of care).
Ambulatory infusion centers (AICs) like LUX are built around patient needs, typically offering unique advantages while delivering far smoother experiences when compared to traditional hospital-based infusions.
That’s because AICs can be more convenient, cost-effective, and comfortable than hospitals providing infusions.
The table below breaks down these differences, revealing exactly how AICs can beat out hospitals in several key areas.
Factor | Ambulatory Infusion Centers (AICs) | Hospitals |
---|---|---|
Convenience | AICs usually have weekday and (some) weekend appointments, with faster scheduling and streamlined check-in processes. | Hospitals often have limited hours, with longer wait times and complex scheduling. |
Environment | AICs tend to be comfortable, offering boutique-style care focused on individual patients. | Hospitals tend to be more clinical, with higher patient volume and less personalized experiences. |
Costs | AICs are typically lower in total cost of care. Some have dedicated experts who can help patients find financial assistance programs to minimize infusion costs. | Hospitals typically charge more for infusions due to higher overhead and operating costs. |
Travel-Friendly | AICs can make it easier for traveling patients to get infusions away from home. | Hospitals are usually tied to a single system, which can mean less flexibility and more challenging on-the-go scheduling. |
Patient Experience | AICs are generally designed for privacy, comfort, and efficiency. | Hospitals tend to be focused on volume and throughput. |
Simply put, AICs can offer a better overall infusion therapy experience than hospitals can. AICs have also been tied to improved patient outcomes.
For those who live in or visit Alaska, having a reliable alternative to hospital-based care can ensure continuity of infusion treatments, greater flexibility, and invaluable peace of mind.
