Ted Kramm

Chief Executive Officer

Ted’s 30+ years of vast experience in specialty infusion pharmacy has made him an expert in building and leading specialty home infusion pharmacy businesses. His expertise includes starting locations, integrating acquisitions, and developing a patient first culture that drives organizational success.

With the goal of building a patient-centric model with national scale, Ted and his wife, Kathee, founded AxelaCare in 2008 (now Optum Infusion) which grew to be the second largest national infusion platform behind CVS Coram. With revenues approaching $3 billion dollars and the help of two rounds of private equity funding (from Excellere Partners in 2010 and then Harvest Partners in 2013), AxelaCare operated 43 regional locations and was licensed to provide care in 50 states. In 2015, AxelaCare was acquired by UnitedHealth Group and was integrated into their OptumRx business unit.

Ted was appointed to the BioMatrix Board of Directors in December 2023 and assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in June 2024 with the goal of accelerating growth and expanding expertise in specialty infusion services.
