Camp Blood Brothers and Sisters Celebrating 45 Years!

Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California

Since 1979, Camp Blood Brothers and Sisters has been the ultimate summer adventure for our community youth! For 20 years, we have proudly called The Painted Turtle Camp in scenic Lake Hughes our camp home. It is more than just a getaway; it’s a thrilling opportunity for affected kids and their siblings to get to know other kids who face the daily challenges of a bleeding disorder.

Imagine six action-packed summer days filled with everything from archery to arts and crafts, along with boating, horseback riding, a ropes course, woodshop, fishing, music, and swimming! Our campers, aged 7-16, can dive into these traditional camp activities while learning about safety protocols and which activities may require an infusion of medication before participating. Teens aged 17-18 can attend camp as Leaders-in-Training, guiding the next generation of campers!

Campers can also take part in awesome bleeding disorder education, where they can learn to self-infuse and earn the coveted Big Stick award! Throughout the week, close friendships blossom over exciting bonding activities, creating memories that last a lifetime.

Supported by amazing peers, counselors, and our dedicated on-site medical staff, a sense of self-confidence, exploration, and belonging is fostered. Kids can truly be kids at Camp Blood Brothers and Sisters!

Patient Navigation Program

Securing access to prescribed therapy, resolving insurance issues, and dealing with medically-related financial burdens represent some of the health system challenges faced by members of the bleeding disorders community. Our Patient Navigation Program at LUX Infusion is here to help!
